Jesus descent into hell was put in by Rufinus but according to sources, he thought more about tbe grave rather than hell.
I believe the Bible tells us more about this than meets the eye. Where people assume the Harrow of hell, Jesus in spirit only in the 3 days his body was in the grave is wrong. When Jesus died, He said “Father into your hands I commit my spirit” and He died. Jesus was in heaven with the Fathsr but in spirit and thus saw the saints and the their on the cross. Then he came back to His body in the grave, descended to hell to give proclamation that he conquered sin, death and the devil. Jesus in spirit and body. He also raised himself, not the Father, (as God), because he says once but in 2 different place, “i will lay down my life (not cardiac arrest) and I will take it up again”.
