In this episode, Brett and Jason discuss the first commandment from the small and large catechisms. They examine both the nature of faith and the nature of idolatry. Finally, they answer the question, “What does it mean to trust in God?”

I do wish that my family growing up did more family devotions and use the Small Catechism as one of the books we use. If the Lord blesses me with a wife, I’ll probably combine Scripture reading with the Small Lutheran Catechism, and Westminister Small Catechism, and use the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith as my future family Confession (because I’m a Baptist going to a Presbyterian church, PCA).
