Pastor of Faith Free Lutheran Church in south Minneapolis. Husband to Esther. Father of five. "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me," -Gal. 2:20.
I have been finding this right and left kingdom theology very helpful as I have been processing how the church is to be an influence in the left kingdom. I understand how it can become legalistic. However we must not shy away from being lights in our dark culture. We must be willing to come up with those good ideas and express them to reign in the debauchery in our present society. I have been going to my local school board meetings and saying so. Because our present school board is very left leaning, these ideas are not received well. But some exposure has happened and I believe we must not lose our salt in the public arena. It is a little like going to “Mars Hill”. I know I must be as wise as a serpent and as innocent as a dove as I am being sent like a sheep among wolves. But Jesus promises to be with me.
